A few months ago I went on a week long trip with some friends to Peru. We went to Machu Picchu, explored the Sacred Valley, went horse back riding, and tried a bunch of restaurants.
There were some pretty awesome food; some amazing crepes from a small street vendor, great fruit juices, and the much less awesome guinea pig that we tried. All of this Peruvian food led me on a bit of a culinary adventure. I tried out a bunch of new recipes and this was one of them.
This recipe is a bit time consuming, but it is worth it. The flavor profile is very complex. It's a mix of sweet, salty, and spicy that is great as a standalone dessert and doesn't leave you craving something else.
